One of the regular events organized by the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) to celebrate the city's anniversary is the Jakarta Fair, now known as Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK).
This exhibition and entertainment event—renowned as the biggest, most comprehensive, and longest-running fair in Southeast Asia—is typically held a few days before Jakarta’s anniversary on June 22 and runs through July. This year, in celebration of Jakarta’s 498th anniversary, JFK 2025 will take place from June 19 to July 13, 2025, at JIExpo Kemayoran.
Among the many participants featured at the event are MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) entrepreneurs, who are provided with their own dedicated booths by the organizers.
Here’s a closer look at how MSMEs are participating in this year’s celebration.
What is the Jakarta Fair?
The Jakarta Fair is an annual event that originated from an idea by former Jakarta Governor Ali Sadikin in 1968. At the time, he envisioned the event as a platform for trade promotion that would also bring together elements of entertainment and culture in an inclusive public space.
Since then, the Jakarta Fair has continued to grow and has become not only an iconic city event but also a highly anticipated national celebration. Every year, visitors from outside Jakarta willingly travel to the capital just to attend the fair.
For Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2025, the main theme is:“Jakarta Fair Kemayoran Supports a Progressive Indonesia Through Sustainable Innovation and Local Creations.”The sub-theme highlights:“Let’s Work Together to Develop MSMEs and Other Creative Industries So They Can Grow Strong and Compete in Global Markets.”
This year’s theme clearly reflects the Jakarta Government’s focus on empowering MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise) entrepreneurs, showcasing a collective spirit to build Indonesia’s future through innovation, creativity, and cross-sector collaboration.
In addition to MSMEs, thousands of companies from various industrial sectors will also take part, showcasing their flagship products—from automotive and electronics to fashion and home appliances.
Even MSME booths from other regions will be featured, such as:
Yogyakarta Special Region, at booths No. 29 and 30
East Java, at booth No. 4All located in Halls C1 and C2 of JIExpo Kemayoran.
One of the major highlights of this event is the exclusive offers and discounts that visitors can’t get elsewhere. The fair also includes multi-product exhibitions, cultural parades, fireworks shows, and a culinary festival that features a mix of traditional Indonesian flavors and international cuisine.
MSMEs That Have Previously Participated
The MSME booths located in Halls C1 and C2 feature a wide range of products from various regions—ranging from fashion, snacks, and souvenirs to traditional herbal remedies. One of the MSMEs that participated in Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2023 was Sinar Abadi Batik, a batik producer from Yogyakarta.
At the event, they showcased a variety of batik designs, including hand-drawn batik (batik tulis), stamped batik (batik cap), dominant-pattern batik, and abstract motifs for both men and women. However, the best-selling items were short-sleeve men's batik shirts and women’s batik clothing.
Agus, the owner of Sinar Abadi Batik, shared that visitor enthusiasm was strong from the first week through to the end of the event. He expressed deep appreciation for the fair, noting its direct impact on the growth of MSMEs, both locally and nationally.
Agus also felt honored to be selected as a participant and proudly stated that he met his sales target during the exhibition.
Another standout MSME came from Lebak Regency, showcasing a variety of agricultural and fishery-based products, such as palm sugar, banana chips, shredded fish (abon), milkfish satay (sate bandeng), and ranji tamarind fruit.
Given that the Baduy tribe is one of the most well-known cultural icons from Lebak, the MSME booth also featured handwoven Baduy textiles and traditional clothing. Among all their products, palm sugar was the top-selling item, gaining popularity in recent years for its delicious pairing with coffee.
Andri, representing the Lebak MSME group, expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped them participate in the event. He hopes to return in future years and make an even bigger positive impact through his region’s MSMEs.
In addition to Halls C1 and C2, MSME participants can also be found at the Souvenir and Culinary Center in Hall E, which features a wide array of regional culinary businesses sure to tempt every visitor’s taste buds.
